A deep field of top American and international professional athletes will compete for a $26,200 guaranteed prize purse, including a $4,000 prize for each race champion. A breakdown of the prize purse is below:

  • Open Prize Purse: $4000, $2500, $1500, $1000, $750, $500, $250
  • U.S. Prize Money: $1000, $750, $500, $250, $100

Now in its sixth year, Pittsburgh’s favorite fall road race continues to showcase some of the world’s best road runners each year. More than 4,000 participants from ages seven years old to 77 years old from 32 states are expected to toe the start line alongside world-class athletes such as Kellyn Taylor, who recently became the 7th fastest U.S. women's marathoner of all time, and 8K world record holder Stephen Sambu from Kenya.

On the women’s side, Taylor will compete against runners such as Ethiopian Gotytom Gebreslase and Kenyan Monicah Ngige, who finished in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, at the 2017 EQT Pittsburgh 10 Miler. In the men’s field, Sambu will face stiff competition in his Pittsburgh debut. Defending champion Panuel Mkungo, fellow Kenyan Dominic Korir and local running star Jim Spisak are just a few of the runners who will make up the men’s field.
